Two injured in head-on collision in Coles County

MATTOON — Two people were taken to a hospital for treatment following a head-on collision west of Mattoon late Saturday morning.
Illinois State Police at Pesotum said Angela Brachbill, 39, of Shelbyville, was driving east on Illinois 16 about two miles west of Mattoon at 11:35 a.m. when she went to pass three or four cars that had slowed or stopped for a car turning into a private drive.
