Bridge work will close lanes on I-74 through C-U

Interstate 74 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction in Champaign-Urbana on weekday nights over the next two weeks while bridge decks are being sealed.
The work will be done on bridge decks on I-74 from the University Avenue exit in Urbana to the I-57 interchange in Champaign, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday, beginning Aug. 29.
Drivers are asked to slow down through the work zone.
The project will include applying a protective sealer on the concrete decks.
The work is expected to take two weeks, weather permitting.
