Two streets in Urbana will be affected today by maintenance work on sewer lines.

Meanwhile, a couple of city streets in Champaign will have lane closures due to work expected to begin Monday, and another Urbana street will be affected by sewer work on Tuesday.

— One or more lanes will be closed on Vine Street between Fairlawn Drive and Oregon Street between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. today, but the street will remain open for traffic.

A contractor will do lining work on a sewer line that runs north along Vine Street.

— Nevada Street will be closed between Vine Street and Walnut Street from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today.

— More sewer work is planned for Tuesday on Urbana Avenue between Elm and Main streets. That work is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, and the intersection of Main and Elm may be restricted for part of the day.

In Champaign, one southbound lane of Prospect Avenue just north of Kirby Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, while a new driveway approach is put in at 1413 S. Prospect Ave.

And one westbound lane along Bradley Avenue will be closed for about four miles, between Staley Road and Chestnut Street, beginning Monday and running though Friday, Feb. 17.

The lane closure will generally happen between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and is being done to accommodate fiber-optic drilling for the UC2B project, an intergovernmental consortium of the University of Illinois and the cities of Urbana and Champaign dedicated to building and operating an open-access fiber-optic broadband network throughout the Champaign-Urbana area.
