Salvation Army still seeking donations in final week of campaign

The annual Christmas Fund Drive for the Salvation Army of Champaign County has less than a week remaining, and the agency says it's still in desperate need of donations.
Salvation Army Envoy Michael Fuqua said the group has received nearly $371,000 so far. The goal for the campaign is $430,000. If that goal is not met, Fuqua said, program cuts will have to be made.
Fuqua said the group has never been in this situation before, where it's making a last minute effort to reach it's goal.

Fuqua also said most people don't realize that donations to the Salvation Army help fund services in Champaign County and not elsewhere.

You can make a donation by mail or in person at the Red Shield Center at 2212 North Market Street in Champaign.
The campaign ends on Sunday, but Fuqua said the Salvation Army will still accept donations after that.
