Community action agency opening office in Paxton
PAXTON – An agency that helps poverty-stricken families take steps toward independence is setting up administrative offices in Paxton.
The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency is remodeling a building at 1195 E. Pells St., near the AmerenCIPS substation, to accommodate the new offices, as well as two classrooms for the agency's Head Start program, which has been operating out of the former West Lawn School building at 425 W. Orleans St.
