One lane of Main Street in downtown Champaign to be closed for work on water line

CHAMPAIGN – Part of Main Street in downtown Champaign is closed till Monday for water line repair.

The eastbound lane of Main Street is closed from Walnut Street to Neil Street, according to Abe Wilson, project manager for Duce Construction.

Westbound traffic will not be affected, but left turns will be prohibited for southbound traffic on Neil Street at Main Street . Eastbound traffic on Church Street is being detoured south at Neil.

Wilson said the work is expected to be completed by Feb. 15.
