Illinois 47 bridge-replacement work to begin on Wednesday
|
PARIS – Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin Wednesday on bridge-replacement work on Illinois 47 south of Mahomet from South Mahomet Road to Fawn Drive, the Illinois Department of Transportation has announced.
One lane of traffic will be maintained throughout the project during construction. There will be a 12-foot width restriction about a half-mile south of the intersection of U.S. 150 and Illinois 47 because of the bridge work.
The project is scheduled to be completed by late November, weather permitting. The contractor for the $3,266,543 project is Halverson Construction Co.
Motorists are advised to slow down and drive carefully through this and all work zones.
