Rail crossing to close Sept. 13 in Crescent City for repair

CRESCENT CITY – A portion of Illinois 49 in Iroquois County will be closed for about a week while a railroad crossing is rebuilt.
The Illinois Department of Transportation said the TP&W Railway crossing at Illinois 49 in Crescent City will be closed beginning Sept. 13.
Northbound traffic on Illinois 49 will be detoured west on U.S. 24 to U.S. 45 east of Gilman, north on U.S. 45 to the U.S. 45/Illinois 116 intersection in Ashkum and east on U.S. 45 back to Illinois 49.
Southbound traffic will be detoured west on U.S. 45 to the U.S. 45/Illinois 116 intersection in Ashkum, south on U.S. 45 to U.S. 24 east of Gilman and east on U.S. 24 back to Illinois 49.
