Sewer work to affect Mattis Avenue traffic

CHAMPAIGN — Traffic will be reduced on a portion of South Mattis Avenue on Thursday and Friday as sanitary sewer service is installed in the area.

A northbound lane of Mattis will be closed at 2310 S. Mattis Ave. between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday to allow for the installation of sanitary sewer service.

Southbound traffic will be unaffected by the project.

Sure wold be nice if the article gave some cross streets for those of us who might drive in that area but not know the numeric addresses.  After all, businesses and homes in this city do such a poor job of posting their street address numbers that it's hard to find things on that basis.

Google seems to think that's somewhere near Windsor, but would it hurt the city to have provided true cross streets in their announcement?

Of course, only now do I realize this article was from 6 months ago, and the road work has been completed.  Ugh.
