The commission, which is due to issue a report next month, is expected to hear from three experts Monday.

So far, some of the university's top officials, including Chancellor Richard Herman, have testified.

Herman has said that the clout list, dubbed "Category I" by university officials, has existed for decades. He has said it was set up to track applicants who were recommended by lawmakers and donors, among others.

After the Chicago Tribune reported on the "Category I" list in May, the university suspended its use. President Joseph White has said he'll cooperate with the investigation.
