The National Weather Service is urging people to take the necessary precautions this week to stay safe with the expected hot temperatures.
Afternoon high temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 80's to lower 90's Tuesday afternoon with heat index values around 100.
Highs from Wednesday through Friday will rise to between 90 and 95 degrees with heat index values of 100 to 105.
Winds are not expected to offer much relief as wind speeds will be less than 10 miles per hour across most of the area through Friday morning.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air conditioned room, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
