Nice weather was too good to last

The National Weather Service in Lincoln reports that a narrow band of snow north of Danville will quickly expand across East Central Illinois Saturday evening.

It may begin as rain before quickly changing to snow. Accumulations of one to two inches with locally higher totals are expected in about a 50 mile wide area centered roughly along a Danville to Decatur line.

Further south toward Charleston and Mattoon, the precipitation will be a mixture of rain and snow for a longer period of time, diminishing the totals in that area.
