I was sorry to hear of Shi's passing. I was honored to collaborate with him during my employment at Battelle Memorial Institute & Battelle Columbus Laboratories (1977-1981), including a JCP paper published in 1980. (I think I continued to see him occasionally after that in conjunction with the Chemical Dynamics Corp. - OSU Chemistry Dept. joint seminar series.)
He was a great man.
