To the family of Deputy Reed:
I was an emergency 9-1-1 dispatcher for Metcad for 12 years and worked closely with Deputy Reed. He was a very nice guy, always very kind and soft spoken. My husband did a drywall job for him and Linda several years ago. I remember going along with Tommy when he had to give the wall another coat of mud; I thought I would wait in the truck... when Dale found out I was waiting in the truck, he peeked out the front door and motioned for me to come in! He enjoyed showing us around his home.
I am sorry for your loss. May it help to know he had many great friends and touched many lives.
Rest in peace Badge 523.

Dale and i were good friends, he was truly a one of a kind and i will miss seeing him and reminiscing about our time with the Sheriffs Office.
Dale always spoke of his wife Linda, and to me she was even after death his entire life. It gives me peace to know that he can again spend quality time with Linda now for eternity.
Rest in Peace my friend and i hope to someday see you both again.
I have received a sympathy card at my home for my brother. It is a very heartfelt note I wish to share with our family and friends...
"We wanted to express our condolences for the loss of Dale. We had the pleasure of working with Dale at the Champaign County Sheriff's Office in the 1980's, on the 3-11 shift. He was not only our co-worker, but a good friend and we will all miss him dearly. Although we find ourselves unable to attend visitation and funeral services, his family is in our thoughts and prayers."

The Dale Reed family
Dale was friend of my Aunt and Uncle and I first met him when he worked for CPD. Our friendship continued after I joined the IL State Police and Dale moved to CCSO. He was a great guy and I always enjoyed chatting and working with him when our professional paths crossed.
He has been taken from us all to soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
