Elizabeth Games House, 90, of Newman passed away Oct. 25, 2008, in Champaign.
She was born Aug. 7, 1918, in Latham, the daughter of Clifford and Vera (Major) Games. Elizabeth married S. Bartlett House of Lincoln in 1939.
They made their home in Lincoln and Villa Grove before settling in Newman where Mr. House was engaged in the lumber business.
Elizabeth was a member of the Newman Methodist Church and had served on Newman’s library board. Prior to her failing health, Elizabeth was an avid bridge player and enjoyed working in her home and yard. She, also liked to travel, particularly visiting family. She especially treasured times with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. House is survived by her daughter, Harriet (John) Reutter of Aurora; her sons Bartlett of Newman and Justin of Danville; six grandchildren; Gretchen (Jeff) Pawlowski of Naperville, Ingrid (Jeff) Ellithorpe of Hinsdale, John (Elizabeth) Reutter of Woodbury, Minnesota, Tom Reutter of Chicago, Bryan (Becky) House of White Fish Bay, Wis., and Brent (Amy) House of Dublin, Ohio; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Bart, in 1981; sister, JoAnn Rowe, in 2001, and brother, Leland Games, in 2002 preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Joines-Appleby Funeral Home in Newman. Burial will follow at the Fairfield Cemetery. Reverend Duane Oakley will officiate. The family will greet guests an hour prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Newman Methodist Church, Newman, IL 61942, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
