MAPLETON – W. Keith Johnson, 63, of Lake Camelot passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, with his family around him after a lengthy battle with cancer.
A faith Christian who schooled his family in the Bible, he was born on Sept. 17, 1947, in Iola, the son of Winston K. and Kathleen (Quick) Johnson. He married Laurie Robinson on Sept. 17, 1966. She survives. They were married 44 years.
Also surviving are his daughter, Dawn Lacey, and husband of
Missouri; three grandchildren, Mark, Paige and Peyton Manzi; his brother's family, Kevin and Connie Johnson of Urbana; one niece and one nephew; one uncle, Robert Quick of Edgewood; one aunt, Nadine Mulvaney of Vancouver, Wash.; as well as Mark and Janet Manzi and Family of Metamora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brian Johnson.
He attended Urbana High School.
Keith was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Keith, as he was known by his friends, lived in Mapleton in the Lake Camelot community.
He was an insurance consultant all his professional life. He loved hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, reading his Bible and seeing friends, never failing to help whenever asked. He was a devout Christian and a Life
Underwriters Training Council member.
There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home, Bartonville. There will be a graveside service on Friday.
