OAKWOOD – Philip "Phil" Koehn, 60, of Oakwood passed away at 1:35 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 19, 2012) at his daughter's residence in Oakwood.
He was born April 27, 1951, the son of Carl and Pearl (Switzer) Koehn. Both are deceased.
On June 10, 1973, Phil married Judy Davis. She survives. Also surviving are his two daughters, Jacee (Jeff) Seyfert of Danville and Jennifer (John) Butler of Oakwood. After his marriage to Judy, Phil met Debbie Rubedor; she survives along with his nine grandchildren, James, Megan, Jaden, Jerzey, Amber, Katie, Mavric, Rogue and Bradley; and one sister, Mary (Danny) Cox. Many nieces and nephews also survive him.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Wayne Koehn, and half-brother, Keith Beam, preceded Phil in death.
He was a high school graduate and later earned his master's degree in business management. He was employed with Quaker Oats, located in Danville, for 13 years, and was currently employed with Home Depot in Champaign, working as receiving manager for 21 years, enjoying his work up until his passing. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and co-workers.
Phil enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, as well as fishing, watching NASCAR, bowling, playing cards and attending auctions.
A Celebration of the Life of Philip Koehn has been scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today (Sunday, Jan. 22) at the funeral home, with Masonic services to begin at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The Koehn family has asked that memorial donations be sent in Phil's name to either Home Depot in Champaign, or Danville Cancer Center.
