CHAMPAIGN – Celebration of life memorial services for James R. "Jamie" Peyton, 31, of Fargo, N.D., formerly of Champaign, will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1700 Crescent Drive, Champaign. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Steve Shoemaker will officiate.

Mr. Peyton passed away at 1:35 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 29, 2012) at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm St., Champaign, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jamie was born on Jan. 3, 1981, in Champaign, a son of Dwayne and Donna (Brown) Peyton.

He is survived by his parents; a brother, Jason Peyton of Minneapolis, Minn.; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Rose Brown of Urbana; and his paternal grandmother, Mildred Ferri of Gibson City.

Jamie was employed in food service. He was a graduate of Champaign Centennial High School. He enjoyed fishing and Illini sports.

Memorial contributions in Jamie's name may be made to the Champaign County Humane Society, 1911 E. Main, Urbana, IL 61802.

Oh Donna! I am so sorry for you Dwayne and Jason. I sure didn't expect to see you so soon under circumstances like these. Please accept my deepest sympathy for you all.

I will forever remember Jamie as the little skinny toeheaded child running between your house and Mom's.

I am at a loss of words right now, Jamie was such a great person and always put a smile on everyone’s face every time he was around. To the Peyton family you are in my thoughts and prayers! We will all miss u greatly "Peyto".
