NEWMAN – Stanley Charles Culton, 68, passed away Sunday (Feb. 5, 2012) at the Loyala University Hospital in Maywood.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Joines-Appleby Funeral Home in Newman. Pastor Ben Williamson will officiate. Burial will be held at the Newman Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Culton was born Nov. 12, 1943, in Tuscola, a son of Keith and Clara Underwood Culton. He is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Culton was raised in Chrisman and graduated from Chrisman High School. He attended DeVry University in Chicago and worked and lived in Romeoville for a time and worked for IBM in the computer and banking industry.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War era.
