CHAMPAIGN – Bernadine M. Helbling, 83, of Champaign passed away at 5:35 p.m. Saturday (April 14, 2012) at the Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center in Savoy.
She was born on June 11, 1928, in Danville to Bernard and Mildred Colberg Bruns. She married James Louis Helbling in Champaign on June 20, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1986.
Surviving are three sons, Michael (Carla) Helbling of Urbana, Thomas (Darlene) Helbling of Sacramento, Calif., and Daniel (Carol) Helbling of Mahomet; one daughter, Cathy (Chuck) Langlois of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, William (Margaret) Bruns of Golden Colorado.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Champaign and was very active in the Tuesday morning Circle.
Visitation for Bernadine will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy, with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Laurie Hill officiating. Interment will take place in the East Lawn Burial Park in Urbana.
