URBANA – Elizabeth Franklin, 101, of Urbana passed away on June 4, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

She was born Feb. 22, 1911, at Charleston, a daughter of William C. and Delta (McConnell) Drysdale. She married John L. Franklin on March 5, 1966, in Rantoul. He preceded her in death in 1984.

Survivors include two stepsons, J. Thomas Franklin of Maine and Robert A Franklin of Argentina; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six cousins.

Mrs. Franklin graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1933 earning a B.M.E. degree. She was employed at Eastern Illinois Telephone Co. for 25 years.

Her interests include music group organizations. She was a member of EAI Pro-Music Fraternity, a Rotary "Harris Member" and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Burial services will be private. Lux Memorial Chapel is handling the arrangements.
