CATLIN – Rhonda K. Cook, 64, of Catlin passed away at 5:24 a.m. Friday (Oct. 5, 2012) at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home, Danville.
Rhonda was born July 6, 1948, in Danville to Clifford and Margaret Pool Boehme. She married Thomas G. Cook on Dec. 22, 1966, at St. Mary's Church in Westville. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Margaret Boehme of Danville; one son, Robert Alan (Dana) Cook of O'Fallon, Mo.; one daughter, Lisa Cook of Danville; seven grandchildren, Skylar Cook, Braydon Cook, Kendra Pittman, Timothy Pittman II, Jalen Pittman, Kay Anna Pittman and Kendrick Pittman; and her special friend, Linda Rollins. She was preceded in death by her father; one son, Randall; one brother, Robert; and her granddaughter, Kaitlyn.
Rhonda was a former manager of Kristen's Shoes in Danville. She worked at Knoll's Oakwood Truck Stop. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Vermilion County Pork Producers, Bunko Club, Catlin Women's Club and Young at Heart Red Hat Society.
She enjoyed baking, cooking and crafts, and was a devoted mother and wife. She was the Vermilion Manor greeter always with a smile and the wave of her hand.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westville, with Father Timothy Sauppe officiating, with entombment in the mausoleum at Resurrection Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with rosary service at 3:30 pm. Memorials may be made to the MS Foundation or the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home.
