WESTVILLE – Thelma L. Povilaitis, 96, of Westville passed away at 4:15 a.m. Friday (Oct. 5, 2012) in the emergency room at United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
Thelma was born Sept. 9, 1916, in Danville to Clarence and Goldie Compton Burcham. She married Stanley Povilaitis on April 25, 1936, in Danville. He passed away Dec. 25, 1973. Survivors include one son, Stanley (Toni) Povilaitis of Westville; one daughter, Louanne Parrish of Westville; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister.
Thelma had worked at the General Electric factory in Danville. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Westville, the American Legion Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors. She enjoyed playing euchre with her friends, eating out and jigsaw puzzles.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Trinity United Church of Christ. The Rev. Connie Tapp Bandy will officiate. Burial is in the St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Westville. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday.
