CARBONDALE – Diana Lee Ashworth, 64, of Carbondale died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 6, 2012) at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1948, in Champaign, the daughter of Francis A. and Doris Violet (Roberts) Ross.
She worked at SIU for 35 years as an admissions officer. Diana was a member of Murdale Baptist Church and the Good News Gang-Clown Ministry in Carbondale.
She is survived by her friends, David and Kathy Brunaugh of Carbondale, Nathan, Marla, Luke, Sam, D.J., Ben, Lillian, John and Titus of Carbondale; one sister, Sandra (Lester) Miller of Champaign; one brother, Philip Ross of Savoy; one aunt, Betty (Milton) Borik of California; one uncle, Howard Ross of Champaign; and her husband, David C. Ashworth of Carbondale.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
As per her wishes, her body was donated to science.
A memorial service for Diana Lee Ashworth will be at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the Murdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Hicks and Rev. Nathan Brunaugh officiating.
