AMERICUS, Ga. – Michael Francis Mattingly ("Mick"), 66, passed away Thursday afternoon, Oct. 11, 2012, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Oct. 15, from the graveside at Andersonville (Ga.) National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Harrod, Buddy McCrary, Steven Stanley, Shawn Corbett, LeRoy Bowden and Ken Daniel, honorary pallbearers Don Pruim and Jesse Scarborough.
Mr. Mattingly was born April 20, 1946, in Paris, Ill., the son of the late Charles Francis Mattingly and Aline Newman Mattingly, who survives him. He was employed with Albany Tractor Company in Americus as warranty manager and was of
the Catholic faith. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Mattingly is survived by his mother, Aline Newman Mattingly; beloved wife, Caryl Elaine Osman Mattingly of Americus; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Thomas and Raymond of Leslie, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Michael W.
Mattingly and Christus of Americus, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaDonna Dillon and Larry of Lawrence, Kan., Anna Marie Schertz and John of Gibson City, and Bonnie Lou McGrew and Lance of Champaign; brother and sister-in-law, Paul Mattingly and Kim of Mahomet; two grandchildren, Johnny Thomas of Leslie, Ga., and Mary Francis Mattingly of Americus, Ga.; one great-grandchild, Gracey Leigh Thomas of Leslie, Ga.; one uncle, four aunts, one nephew, three nieces and four great nieces.
