ST. ELMO – Freda M. Willms, 88, of St. Elmo died at 8:30 a.m. Monday (Nov. 5, 2012) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, with Harry Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Freda was born April 10, 1924, in Blackwell, Okla., to Clifford E. and Emma Farrel Carnes Masters. She married Arthur Neil Willms on June 5, 1949, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1971.
Freda was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo, and the Vit-Em-In Sunday school class. She was a member of Fayete County Home Extension and had been a 4-H leader and a volunteer for blood drives. She was a homemaker and was retired from Kmart in Effingham.
Surviving are her son, Lyndon (Rita) Willms of Murphysboro; her daughters, Nancy (Les) Rabe of Champaign, Norma (Jeff) Baars of Charlestown, Mass., and Sarah (Scott) Morris of Pesotum; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence E. and Roy Masters; and two grandchildren.
