ROCKFORD – Louise (Ecker) Buchert, 92, of Rockford departed this life on Nov. 4, 2012, in Rockford.
Born July 10, 1920, in Buckley, Louise was the daughter of William and Blandina (Hecht) Ecker.
She attended grade school and high school in Buckley and then moved to Chicago to work before the war. A proud veteran of World War II, she obtained the rank of sergeant in the Woman's Army Air Corps and served at Langley Air Base in Langley, Va.
Louise worked in Chicago after the war and married Robert Buchert of Chicago in 1947. They lived in Chicago and Cicero. She had three sons and one daughter and worked as a homemaker.
Louise was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church of Rockford.
Louise is survived by son, Roger (Patricia Hazel) Buchert of Rockford; son, Randy Buchert of Tomah, Wis.; daughter, Catherine (Dave Gerberick) Durrani of Madison, Wis., and two grandchildren, Jerusha and Shahbaz Durrani, both of Madison. She also has numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (Robert), youngest son (Thomas); four brothers and seven sisters.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a donation may be made to the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund of Rockford or a charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 10, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Road, Forest Park. Entombment will be in Concordia Cemetery, Forest Park.
