CHAMPAIGN – Charles Ed White, 77, of Champaign passed away at 10:18 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 8, 2012) at C-U Regional Rehab Center, Savoy.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. The Rev. J. Michael Smith will officiate.
Mr. White was born Sept. 8, 1935, in Urbana to parents Russell and Evelyn (Shaffer) White. He married Sue Lower on May 3, 1997, in Urbana; she survives.
Other survivors include his son, Michael (Sharyne) White of Momence; stepdaughter, Georgia (Philip) Hash of Plainfield; brothers, John White of Phoenix, Ariz., Wayne White of Champaign and Larry White of Fithian; and sister, Delores Decker of Fithian.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob White; and son, Mark White.
Mr. White worked as a painter for the University of Illinois. He was also a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3075.
