MONTICELLO – Virginia L. Rogers, 82, of Monticello passed away at 12:05 a.m. on Nov. 14, 2012, at the Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Bob Lane officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Virginia was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Monticello, the daughter of Wade and Emma (Flora) Drawhon. She married A. Loren Rogers on Aug. 21, 1948, in Morgansfield, Ky. He passed away March 15, 2001.
Surviving are her children, Tod (Marsha) Rogers, Randy Rogers, and Shelley Rogers, all of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son (Tim Rogers).
Virginia was lifelong resident of Monticello and more than just a house wife, she was a farm wife. Virginia also volunteered at the Piatt County Nursing Home, was a charter member of the Piatt County Trailblazers and was a Piatt County 4-H leader. Virginia enjoyed her yard work, gardening and reading; however, she loved her dogs and was especially proud of and loved her family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or the Piatt County Animal Shelter.
