WESTVILLE – Cleada E. Dupoux, 88, of Westville passed away at 10:20 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 18, 2012) at North Logan Healthcare Center, Danville.
Cleada was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Danville, to Felix and Cleada Evelyn Loper Polakes. She married Mitchell A. Dupoux on May 8, 1943, in Westville. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1984.
Surviving are three daughters, Darla (David) Booe of Westville, Donna Dupoux, and Diane (Kenneth) Krage of Ridge Farm; two sisters, Dorie Heiser of Georgetown and Elnora McCarthy of Westville; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren: one brother-in-law, Joe Chiccino of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and best friends, Dorothy Kotcher and Sharon Boes.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lelia Ann Chiccino.
Cleada owned the Vermilion Area Animal Shelter for more than 25 years. She was a farmer who also owned rental properties and was a housewife.
She loved animals, especially her dog, Derby, and her cats, Tiger and Andy. She was a member of the American Legion in Westville. She was a friend to everyone and loved life. She loved her family dearly, especially her sons-in-law, Kenny and David.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with Pastor James Walker officiating. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Robison Chapel, Catlin.
