THOMASBORO – Duane Gayle Wolken, 55, of Thomasboro died Saturday evening (Nov. 24, 2012) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born May 31, 1957, to Dick and Ann (Huls) Wolken of Urbana. His mother survives.
Duane married Mary (Patten) Wolken on Jan. 10, 1998. She survives.
He is also survived by his two sons, Darren Wolken of Urbana and Devin Wolken of Thomasboro; a sister, Dolonna Mecum of Elgin; six brothers, Leland (Marianne) Wolken of Canadian Lakes, Mich., Myron Wolken of Urbana, Randy (Lana) Wolken of College Station, Texas, Wendell Wolken of Urbana, Bruce (Kelly) Wolken of St. Joseph and Rick (Jodi) Wolken of Urbana; four nieces; six nephews; four great-nieces; and eight great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Duane graduated from St. Joseph-Ogden High School. He worked at Kraft for 33 years and worked part time for Somer Township. He also helped on the family farm every chance he had.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Flatville.
Duane had a very big heart and was willing to help whenever needed. He loved his family and enjoyed working on the farm with his brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville. The Rev. James Lehmann will officiate. Burial will follow in Beckman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Lux Memorial Chapel is handling the arrangements.
