ARMSTRONG – Helen Elizabeth Zindars, 88, of Armstrong passed away at 10:45 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 25, 2012) at home surrounded by her family.
Helen was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Oakwood, the daughter of Jesse and Etta (Miller) Wilson. She married Phillip August Zindars on Jan. 29, 1944, in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 2012.
She is survived by five children, Phillip Gary (Marijane) Zindars of Potomac, Mickey (Marilyn) Zindars of Armstrong, Steven (Richard Hayes) Zindars of Champaign, Brenda (Charlie) Learned of Penfield and Mitchel (Melynda) Zindars of Rankin; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Linda Sandy, three brothers and three sisters.
Helen graduated from Fairmount High School. She worked as a homemaker.
Helen was a member of the Red Hats Society and the Bandoliers. She enjoyed needlework, jigsaw puzzles, singing, writing in her journal and she especially loved reading books. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
A celebration of Helen's life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Potomac United Methodist Church, with Pastor Sally Swaim officiating. Burial will be in Partlow Cemetery in Armstrong following the service. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac is assisting the family with arrangements.
