HOOPESTON – Mildred "Millie" Sullivan, 89, of Hoopeston passed away at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2012) at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center in Hoopeston.
She was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Cherokee, Kan., the daughter of Ignac and Mary (Kaprinikar) Cerne. She married Jack Sullivan on Dec. 2, 1944, in Melrose Park. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1993.
She is survived by three daughters, Pat (George) Stone of Wilmette, Nancy (Bill) Conroy of Villa Park and Sue Sullivan of Burr Ridge; three sons, Bill Sullivan of Grayslake, Mick (Kay) Sullivan of Liverpool, England, and John Sullivan of Clarendon Hills; one brother, Al Cerne of Olathe, Kan., and 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Sullivan was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston, where she was very active in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Hoopeston City Council for eight years.
Millie was active with midget football, Little League, Pony League, music boosters and athletic boosters. She was also a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame. Millie enjoyed sewing, playing Bridge and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 423 S. Third St., Hoopeston.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Father Patrick O'Neal officiating. Burial will take place at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
