VILLA GROVE – Anna Vaneta Corbin, 94, of Villa Grove died at 11:50 a.m. Friday (Nov. 30, 2012) at the Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the First Christian Church, 701 N. Sycamore, Villa Grove, with the Rev. Darrell Hinkle officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the First Christian Church in Villa Grove. Burial will be in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Mount Vernon. Joines Funeral Home, Villa Grove, is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Corbin was born June 15, 1918, in Mount Vernon, a daughter of Arley and Agnes (Schiebly) Rector. She married Roy E. Pickett in 1934; he died in 1969. She then married George A. Corbin in 1972; he died in 1994.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Leanna (Larry) Harton of Paw Paw, Mich., and Larry Pickett of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; four step children; seven step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Corbin was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son (Roy L. Pickett); five brothers; two sisters; and two stepchildren.

Mrs. Corbin was a homemaker. She loved her home; she was an excellent cook; she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She loved her church, First Christian Church of Villa Grove, where she was a member for more than 50 years. She particularly enjoyed gospel music.

She enjoyed retirement with George Corbin; they went RV camping, and wintering in Florida for many years. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Villa Grove (701 N. Sycamore) or to the Pleasant Meadows Christian Village (400 W. Washington, Chrisman, IL).
