URBANA – Ellen Klylene Golden, 97, of Urbana, formerly of Danville, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 6, 2012) at the Champaign County Nursing Home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Broadlands.
Ellen was born Oct. 24, 1915 in Delphos, Ohio, to William and Loretta Glass Holley. She attended Jackson and Collett grade schools and Danville High School. She had worked at Connor's Restaurant, Willow Run Bomber Plant and Danville General Electric (1943-1950). She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Ellen married Samuel R. Hermling in 1935. She later married Harold James Golden on Dec. 30, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio. She is survived by a sister, Clarice (Boyd) Henry; a brother-in-law, Jim Heath; nephews, Brian Henry, Alisha (Wayne) Henry, Jimmy Heath and Greg (Janice) Heath and a niece, Sandy (widow of Larry) Lappin. She was preceded by her parents, her husbands, Sam and Harold; brothers, Gene Holley and Raymond Holley; and a sister, Betty Lou Heath.
