CATLIN – Georgia C. Cole-Cravens-Hinchman, 80, of Catlin was received in God's arms at 10:12 a.m. Monday (Dec. 24, 2012) at her daughter's home.
She was born on Dec. 28, 1931, in Danville to Herman Lester Cole and Georgia Marguirite (Cranmore). On July 2, 1950, she married Carl Arthur Cravens at her grandparents' home. He was the love of her life and he went to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, 1988.
She married Albert R. Hinchman in September 1989. She and Al homesteaded in Los Fresnos, Texas, for 13 years until his death on Oct. 24, 2002.
She relocated to Danville in 2003 to be with her family. She is survived by three children, Carla (John) Mansini of Champaign, Ken (Jenny) Cravens and Kim (Junior) Wright, both of Danville; and four grandchildren, Amber (Shawn) Harper, J.T. Wright, Becky (Joe) Sweeney and Rachel Cravens.
Also surviving are four stepchildren, Albert Diane Hinchman Jr., Mike (Shirley) Hinchman, Vicki (Jim) Kline and Debbie (Tim) Sellers, as well as several step-grand and step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Larry (Karen) Cole.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sonnia Lee Henthorn; a brother, Ronald Dean Cole; and a stepson, David Hinchman.
Georgia worked for Kroger in Danville for 25-plus years and retired from Kroger when Kroger left Danville. She then worked for Courtesy Lincoln Ford and Remole Homes before retiring and moving to Texas.
Georgia belongs to the Lord and we can take comfort she is in His care. Yet she is missed greatly by family and friends alike.
She touched many lives during her many life journeys. She was a social butterfly and loved people. The many people who attended her 80th birthday party were a testament to the impression she made on many lives. Now this year we can celebrate her past life with us and present life in God's house.
A ceremony honoring Georgia's life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at the Catlin Church of Christ. Pastor Darren Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at the church on Friday. Cremation rites have been accorded. Robison Chapel, Catlin, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, Georgia requested donations to the Catlin Church of Christ or Carle Hospice (payable to Carle Development Foundation) or St. Jude Children's Hospital, all in care of Robison Chapel.
