DANVILLE – Peggy L. Cummings, 68, of Danville passed away at 7:13 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Peggy was born June 13, 1944, in Danville to Orville B. and Alda M. Dowling Sanders. She married Gary D. Cummings on April 4, 1964, in Danville. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Bryon (Rebecca) Cummings of Charleston and Cary (Jennifer) Cummings of Hume; two sisters, Sue (Duane) Francis and Tina (Mike) Lowe of Tilton; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Joe (Pat) Cummings and Tab L. Cummings of Danville; and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy sold Avon for several years. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1959. She enjoyed Christian conventions and assemblies, sharing the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom, and associating with brothers and sisters at the Kingdom Hall. She loved travel, nature and the outdoors, and collecting bottles. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 619 E. Voorhees St., Danville, with Louie Brock officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until service time at the Kingdom Hall. Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Robison Chapel, Catlin, is handling arrangements.
