CHAMPAIGN – Celebration of Life services for David Michael Anderson, 38, of Champaign will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm St., Champaign.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time.
Mr. Anderson passed away at 12:30 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 27, 2012) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born July 18, 1974, in Urbana, the son of Robert Michael (Mike) and Mary Anne (Mogg) Anderson.
He is survived by his father, his step-mother, Kathy Dwyer, both of Champaign; a sister, Jenny Anderson of Champaign; three brothers, Tim Anderson (wife, Christina) of Norfolk, Va., and Michael Anderson and Chris Anderson, both of Champaign; and his grandmother, Dorothy Anderson, of Marseilles, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Mr. Anderson was employed as a research programmer for the University of Illinois Engineering Department. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years.
He was a member of the Parkland College Big Band Jazz group.
His hobbies included computer gaming and networking and enjoyed a large number of online gaming followers. Other interests included motorcycling and watching movies.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions in Mr. Anderson's name may be sent to the Parkland Foundation (2400 W. Bradley Ave., Champaign, IL 61821) with a designation for the Parkland Big Band.
