Genevieve Montgomery

MANSFIELD – Genevieve Dale (Gene) Montgomery, formerly of Farmer City and Mansfield, passed away Monday (Dec. 24, 2012) in Tulsa, Okla. She was 86.

Gene was born in Okmulgee, Okla., on March 31, 1926, and was formerly married to the late Ramon L. Montgomery, also originally from Okmulgee. She and Ramon moved to Farmer City in 1976 and, after returning to Oklahoma for a few years, Gene later lived in Mansfield from 2003 to 2011.

She is survived by a son, Jeffery Alan Montgomery, and wife, Melodee (Day) of Weleetka, Okla.; daughter, Ramona (Mona) Stivers of Mansfield; grandchildren, Mark Montgomery, and wife, Gena, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Matt Montgomery and wife, Nicky, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Andrew Stivers and fiancee, Jordan Watts, of Columbia, Mo.; Samantha Rae Stivers of Mansfield; and great-grandson, Trenton Montgomery of Mount Pleasant, Texas.

She is also survived by a sister, Clodell Thomas, and husband, Floyd, currently of Okmulgee, Okla.; brother, Bill E. Torbett, and wife, Elizabeth, of Okmulgee, Okla.; three nephews; one niece; and a host of others who thought of her as their Bam too.

According to her wishes she was cremated. A memorial celebrating her life will be announced later.
