Villa Grove, IL – George W. Tomblin, 74, of Villa Grove went to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2012, at Country Health Care and Rehab, Gifford.
He was born April 19, 1938, in Brown Township, a son of John and Wilhelmina (Hays) Tomblin. He married Winifred Wilson. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth (Pierette) Tomblin of North Judson, Ind., and Clyde (Diane) Tomblin of Hoopeston; three sisters, JoAnn (Bill) Rodriques of Romulus, Mich., Shirley Gill of Rantoul and Nadine Coffin of Fisher; a special nephew, Leon (Jackie) Butler; two stepdaughters, Susan Tomblin of Colorado and Irene Ball of Tuscola; three step-grandsons; a step-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Russell and Dale.
George was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Villa Gove. He worked at Fisher Produce as a truck driver. He volunteered with the senior citizens group in Villa Grove.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul. Burial will follow at Villa Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lux Memorial Chapel.
