SULLIVAN – Marie Catherine (Tepen) Mossman of Sullivan died on Friday (Jan. 4, 2013) at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
Visitation will be at McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan on Monday, Jan. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Columcille Catholic Church in Sullivan at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, with burial in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan.
Memorials may be made to the St. Columcille Youth Group in Sullivan or to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Mossman was born Aug. 4, 1923, to Lucas and Margaret (Ficker) Tepen in Meppen, Ill. She married Paul W. Mossman on April 27, 1946.
Marie was a lifelong homemaker and member of the St. Columcille Catholic Church, where she was active with the Council of Catholic Women.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she was well-known for her homemade pies. She delivered Meals on Wheels, participated in a weekly card club, Bible study group and was a Titus Home volunteer.
Marie was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and a follower of her grandchildren's school activities.
She is survived by her sons, Bill (Marian) Mossman of Avon, Ind., Mike (Shelly) Mossman of Sullivan and Jim (Leslie) Mossman of Sullivan; daughters, Peg (Gary) Aldridge of Lincoln, Neb., Paula (Gary) Flannell of Mahomet, RuthAnn (Jerry) Bolsen of Lovington, JoAnn Nolte of Golden Eagle, Ill., and Debbie (Rick) Eilerman of Batchtown, Ill.
She was grandmother of 22 and great-grandmother of 30, with two more expected soon.
Marie is also survived by a brother, Art (Marge) Tepen of Meppen; sisters-in-law, Doris Tepen of Brussels, Ill., and Jean (Lee) Rowling of Grafton, Ill.; brothers-in-law, Lee (Betty) Mossman of Grand Island, Neb., and Elmer Kiel of Meppen.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; son-in-law, Larry Nolte; her parents; infant sister, Elsie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Rosalie Tepen, Edwin and Cora Tepen; and brother, Harry Tepen.
