GIBSON CITY – Kung-Tze "Ellie" Utterback, 70, of Gibson City died at 1:20 a.m. Monday (Jan. 7, 2013) at the Auburn Nursing and Rehab Facility in Auburn, Ill.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at East Bend Mennonite Church in Fisher with the Rev. Michael Dean officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. Burial will be in East Bend Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Ellie was born April 27, 1942, in Taiwan, a daughter of Shin-Chuen Liu.
She is survived by two daughters, Jill Burwitz and Sheila Utterback; two grandchildren, Mia and Brock Burwitz; and three sisters, one brother and many cousins who all reside in Taiwan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
She was a beautician in Taipei, Taiwan. She moved to the United States in 1972. Ellie worked at Kraft Foods in Champaign and retired after more than 20 years of service.
She had many joys in life, including her family and friends at East Bend Mennonite Church and friends in the Gibson City community. She liked to fish, enjoyed being outdoors, was a hard worker and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ her Savior.
