DIXON – Harland Chamberlain, 91, of Dixon died on Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2013) at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
He was born May 26, 1921, in Tampico, the son of Clayton and Ella (Hickey) Chamberlain.
He was a lifelong farmer until his retirement in 2000.
Harland was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon.
He married Ruth Meyer at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling on Jan. 15, 1946.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Chamberlain; a granddaughter; and a brother, Kenneth Chamberlain.
Survivors include his wife of Dixon; children, Mark (Pat) Chamberlain of Bloomington, Theresa (Mike) Sliva of West Chicago, Doris (Rich) Griffin of Palos Park, Jim (Lydia) Chamberlain of St. Louis, Mo., Marilyn Sutton of Dixon, Joan (Joe) Kreps of Sterling, Janet (Michael) Kagan of Rockford, Sue (Tom) Henkel of Dixon, Nancy (Mark) Finnicum of Dixon, Sharon (Darrell) Thomas of Louisville, Ky., Tom (Beth) Chamberlain of Danville and Karen Chamberlain of Dixon; 37 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, beginning with a 10 a.m. prayer service at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon with the Rev. Bernard Sehr officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the funeral home, with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.
