CHAMPAIGN – Celebration of Life services for Ida Mae Oestreicher, 88, of Champaign will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. John Lutheran Church, 509 S. Mattis Ave., Champaign.
Visitation will from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm St., Champaign. There will also be a visitation at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Pastors Mark Elliott and Jeff Caithamer will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Mrs. Oestreicher passed away at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2013) at Helia Healthcare, Champaign.
She was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Elgin, a daughter of William and Ida (Van Duser) Gregg. She married Eugene (Gene) Oestreicher on April 17, 1943, in Aurora. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2006.
She is survived by three sons, David Oestreicher of Champaign, Michael Oestreicher of Willis, Va., and Thomas Oestreicher of Sycamore; two brothers, Thomas Gregg of Las Vegas, N.M., and John Gregg of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Alice Gregg Cronin of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Shirley Gregg Summer of Aurora; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Oestreicher was a member of St. John Lutheran Church since 1987 and the church's Mary Martha Society.
She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, crocheting, camping and traveling.
