RANTOUL – Lois M. Webster, 93, of Rantoul died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 10, 2013) at Heartland Health Care Center, Paxton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the First United Methodist Church, 200 S. Century Blvd., Rantoul. There will be no graveside services.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton, is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Webster was born Nov. 18, 1919, at Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Harold and Ethel Taylor Chaney. She married George S. Sears on Feb. 8, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1962. She married Melvin S. Webster on Aug. 2, 1963, at the First United Methodist Church, Champaign. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Doug (Debbie) Sears of St. Joseph; two daughters, Georgia (Terry Hance) Taylor of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Laurel (Wesley) Hultgren of Rantoul; two stepdaughters, JoEllen Webster of Clarksville, Tenn., and Donna Osborn of Tennessee; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Webster graduated from Monticello High School and attended the Katharine Gibbs School of Boston.

She moved to Rantoul in 1963 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rantoul, the Methodist Woman's Club, Rantoul Woman's Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a bridge club.

Lois was an avid reader; she loved music and enjoyed the English language. She was a wonderful and inventive cook.

She never met a stranger and loved people and other cultures. She was a kind and bubbly person who always believed that you could never stop learning. Her greatest joy was her family.
