CHAMPAIGN – Elizabeth Catherine Mack-Williams, 66, of Champaign passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Memorial services will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 18, at The Church of The Living God, 1109 N. Fourth St., Champaign. The officiant will be Bishop Lloyd E. Gwin.
Elizabeth, who was known as Catherine by her family and friends, was born March 3, 1946, in Champaign to Lillian Jeffery.
In Catherine's younger years, she liked to write poems, read and dance. As an adult, Catherine loved attending church, stopping by just to poke her head in and give a praise. Catherine would often attend activities at the Douglass Center.
Catherine was a giving person, always remembering to give to others as others gave to her. Cathrine's son Gary said, "I will always remember my mom's humbling spirit."
Catherine leaves to mourn sons Kenneth Williams, Gary Williams and Peleg Williams; five sisters, Rena Strong, Shari Long, Patricia Long, Teresa Long-Stephen and Jacqueline Elam; and two brothers, Mose Long and Fredrick Jeffery.
Catherine was preceded in death by her mother.
Catherine will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
