Harold and Ida Scott

Harold and Ida Scott

URBANA – Harold Winfield Scott (Nov. 18, 2012) and his wife Ida Annette Habberton Scott (Nov. 6, 2012), both from Urbana, left their family and friends with loving memories.

They met while students at Uni High in Urbana.

Harold served in the Air Force, graduated from the University of Illinois and had a career in the insurance industry. He loved participating in the Senior Olympics and was instrumental in starting Games in Ohio, Illinois and Florida. He volunteered at St. Rita's School for the Blind in Cincinnati, delivered meals to the homebound locally and wrote and published a mystery.

Ida, first and foremost, was a devoted wife and mother. She was a cancer survivor and loved to substitute teach. Her passion for reading and crafts filled her free time.

Both are survived by their son, Gary of Dayton, Ohio, and grandson, Keenan of Foley, Ala. In addition, Harold is survived by his sister, Joann Anderson of Champaign, and brother, Bob, of Schererville, Ind. Ida is survived by her sister, Christine.

Truly blessed are we who got to spend time with them and will forever hold them in our hearts and thoughts.
