CHENOA – Reba E. Greear, 92, of Chenoa and formerly of Champaign, passed away at 6:25 a.m. Friday (Jan. 11, 2013) at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community in Chenoa.
She was born on Sept. 10, 1920, in Centralia, the daughter of Judge Edward and Ellen Marie (Ainscough) Bryant. She married Darrell Edwin Greear on Sept. 12, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1958.
Reba is survived by two sons, Gene Greear of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Dennis Greear and wife Janet of Forrest; two daughters, Sally Marlar of Paxton and Peggy Taplin and husband Calvin of Pontiac; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Reba graduated from Centralia High School and was a real estate broker in Champaign, retiring in 1995.
Reba was a lifetime member of the Board of Realtors, a former member of Demaree United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Demaree United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Doane officiating. Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Online condolences may be left at irvinfuneralhome.com.
