RANTOUL – Velta R. Adams, 79, of Rantoul, formerly of Fisher, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday (Jan. 14, 2013) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
She was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Waynesburg, Ky., a daughter of Garfield and Thelma (Warren) May. She married Eugene Adams on July 29, 1949, in Farmer City. He survives.
Also surviving are five sons, David (Sandy) Adams of Libby, Mont., Thomas (Pamela) Adams of Zion, Ill., John (Linda) Adams of Maryville, Tenn., James (Debra) Adams of Martinsville, Ind., and William Adams of Fisher; four daughters, Deborah Adams of Philo, Julia (Kenny) Rolson of Philo, Angela (Joel) Martin of Buckley and RoseMary (Jadon) Evans of Lovington; four brothers; a sister; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters and three grandchildren.
Velta was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church.
In her younger days she loved to go dancing and bowling but will most fondly be remembered by her family as a devoted wife and mother.
Private services will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul.
