CHAMPAIGN – Loretta T. Friese, 87, of Champaign passed away at 12:40 a.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2013) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday (Jan. 18) at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 403 W. Clark, Champaign. The Rev. Father Stephen Willard will officiate. Burial will be in the Danville National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 17) at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign. A rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m.
Loretta was born Feb. 3, 1925, in Effingham, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Kabbes Nuxoll. She married Orville Friese on Jan. 15, 1946, in Effingham. He passed away on Nov. 17, 1994.
She is survived by three sons, Terry (Lynne) Friese of Rhinelander, Wis., Thomas (Pamela) Friese of Atwood and Jeffrey (Julie) Friese of Armstrong; three daughters, Patricia (Duane) Lybarger of Champaign, Janet Sjuts of Royal and Carol (Ronald) Banks of Champaign; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Pauline Goldstein; and two brothers, Joe (Louise) Nuxoll and Clarence (Gloria) Nuxoll, all of Effingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one grandson.
